Flybarless Palm Size Helicopter, Let's Go Outdoor!
This year every RC hobbyist are talking about Flybarless Helicopter. Now Walkera has developed the Smallest Flybarless CP Helicopter in the World - the V120D02. It is a Palm Size Helicopter, with Collective Pitch Flybarless Rotor Head and a 10000KV brushless motor, it can resist light breeze in outdoor condition, so you can fly in beautifully in the backyard or in the park! It also has everything you find on a big helicopter, like three CCPM servos, Brushless Motor and ESC, a 2.4Ghz All-in-One Receiver, a Gyro (3-Axis) and a Rudder Servo, the only difference is the V120D02 is even better, because it has a 3-Axis Gyro which other RC Helicopters usually don't have.You may ask "Why Flybarless is good?". Please allow me to explain.

What is a Flybar?
The flybar is a short, thin metal rod placed on top of the helicopter. It is part of the rotor head’s structure, usually attached with a paddle on both ends. The flybar is a stabilizer. The heavier the paddle and longer the flybar, the more stable the heli. However, you can compensate by using the high-tech 3-Axis Gyro. The onboard RX2410V Super Controller makes the V120D02 fly so well that it performs just like an ordinary rotor head helicopter.

Why Make it “Flybarless?”
Flybarless means less moving parts. That saves energy and allows you to fly 20 to 30 percent longer. Also, less parts mean less repairing. Flybarless is the future of RC helicopters!

Difference between V120D01, V120D02 and 4G6S
4G6S is the "Standard" RC Helicopter for all time, about the size of your palm, it has a flybar and a 3-Axis Gyro, I would say it is the "Benchmark model". For V120 series, V means "Flybarless", 120 means it's size at "120" class, same size as 4G6S. V120D01 is a 4-Channel Fixed Pitch Heli, made for beginners. V120D2 is a 6-Channel Collective Pitch Helicopter, made for intermediate to expert players. V120 series are evolved from 4G6S series, 80% parts are common. Only difference are V120 series does not have flybar, 4G6S has a flybar.

What is 3-Axis Gyro?
3-Axis Gyro means it can sense X, Y and Z axis moments, that means body leaning forward / backward, body rolling left / right, tail drifting CW / CWW, it will constantly monitoring any off-balance in all directions, then it will give signals to all CCPM servos and Rudder servo to balance the helicopter, it works constantly and unless you have the helicopter drifts to much, you will not even notice the system exists, please take a look at the following picture.

Comparing 4G6S and V120D02

3-Axis Gyro and Rudder Servo means good!
Tail rotor is used to generate wind to counter act the main rotor rotation. Precise of tail rotor wind is needed to keep the helicopter heading one direction. We usually have two ways in generating the precise of wind from the tail rotor, one is the Tail Motor, another one is sharing the power from the Main Motor by a tail drive shaft. Tail Motor is usually slower, sometimes it can't keep up with the main motor's speed and causing the tail to drift while heli when you're making quick ascend or descend. The best solution is to have a Gyro and Rudder Servo. By changing the Tail Rotor blade pitch, you can adjust the amount of wind generating to keep the heli in one heading, to do this, you need a good performance gyro constantly monitoring the heli heading and give correction to rudder servo, then it will push the tail rotor pitch. You will not imagine how quick it worked during the flight, but it is the heart and soul for any RC helicopter.

Aluminum Flybarless CCPM and Swashplate Design
Using the most common swashplate design in recent days, the main advantage of Flybarless CCPM swashplate design is that it has much less parts than ordinary RC Helis, less complicated to assemble and repair and because of the swashpalte was supported by 3 servos, it can distributes the forces over all 3 servos, leading to less workload on the servos.
